Jose has over 30 years of appraisal experience on Kauai, and is the FIRST and ONLY Kauai based appraiser to hold the SRA and AI-RRS designations who is also FHA and VA approved. He began his career in 1988 as a staff appraiser for a Kauai appraisal firm.  His 11-year tenure offered him an opportunity to learn about the island from a valuation perspective.  His assignments covered all the neighborhoods, from Kekaha to Haena, properties from Mauka (mountains) to Makai (sea) – single-family, multi-family, condominiums, vacant land including large acreage, estates, oceanfront properties, and Kuleanas in remote areas. 

Jose earned his Hawaii SLA (State Licensed Appraiser) license in 1993.  He decided to venture on his own and in July 2000 opened his own appraisal firm on Kauai as a sole proprietor – Jose R. Diogo, Real Estate Appraiser.  In 2007, the company was incorporated and renamed Diogo Appraisal Services, Inc. 

Jose upgraded to a Hawaii CRA (Certified Residential Appraiser) license in 2008.  He joined the Appraisal Institute in 2009 as a Practicing Affiliate and became a Candidate for Designation between June 2014 to November 2018.  He received his SRA designation from the Appraisal Institute in 2018 and his AI-RRS designation in 2019.  He has been a board member of the Hawaii Chapter of the Appraisal Institute since 2019.

Lynell Tokuda

Lynell joined the company in 2002 as clerical help.  She became more involved in the valuation process, first assisting with property inspections, then learning the appraisal process to eventually working on appraisals to gain the necessary experience to earn her CRA (Certified Residential Appraiser #858) license in 2008.  Although her license is currently on inactive status, she provides extensive effort to the development of the appraisal assignments and continues to keep up with her appraisal education courses. 

A valuable and loyal asset to the company, Lynell has the utmost dedication and attention to detail and is an excellent team member who plays an integral part in the daily operations and functions of the company.  

Veronica Llego

Secretary/Office Assistant

Veronica became part of the team in 2022 as clerical help.  In addition to the multitude of daily office duties, she also assists in the research and information gathering process for the assignments.  She is a quick learner who is eager and accepting of new tasks and willing to challenge herself consistently. We are excited to watch her progress and offer the company the needed support to continue our dedication to servicing our clients.
